Srinagar

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday disallowed a seminar of joint resistance leadership to commemorate the International Human Rights day.

Sources said that the government deployed extra forces around the residence of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani and did not allow anybody to enter. The residence of Geelani was the venue of seminar.

Although Malik had jointly called for the seminar, however he went into hiding on Friday. A JKLF spokesperson said that Malik went into hiding to participate in tomorrow’s proposed protest program.

While, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chairperson of Hurriyat Conference (m) is under house detention at his Nigeen residence since Thursday afternoon, senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house detention since 2010.
