SRINAGAR: An elderly woman in Rafiabad, North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, was allegedly killed by her son, officials said on Monday.
The victim, a 48-year-old resident of Hadipora Sopore whose identity has been withheld, was reportedly attacked with a knife by her son, resulting in critical injuries. Despite being rushed to Sub-district Hospital Sopore, she was declared dead upon arrival by doctors.
Following the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and apprehended the accused, identified as Amir Farooq Wani.
The official further said a case in this regard bearing FIR number 28/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion. He said weapons of offence has also been seized from the spot. (KS)
