SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday said they have taken action against an individual for assaulting his parents and preventing them from entering their home for the past year in Srinagar.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said they acted on a written complaint from the accused’s mother. “A criminal case (FIR No. 77/2024) under sections 74, 126(2), and 351(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Nowgam, and an investigation is underway.”
The spokesman further said, “The accused, identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani, son of Gh Ahmad Wani, a resident of SA Colony, Nowgam, has been taken to the police station for questioning. The investigation is ongoing.”
A video of the incident has been circulating on social media platforms, the statement added. (GNS)
