SRINAGAR: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially lifted the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Haryana and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, effective immediately. This follows the declaration of results for the recent General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of both states.
MCC, enforced upon the announcement of the election schedule, remains active until the completion of the electoral process.
With the results now declared by the respective Returning Officers, the MCC is no longer in effect. The ECI has directed that all concerned parties be notified of this development.
The lifting of the MCC signifies the formal conclusion of the election process and the return to normal political activity in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir.
