SRINAGAR: Night curfew has been imposed along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, according to an official order.

The decision aims to prevent cross-border infiltration and weapon smuggling through drones during the foggy weather conditions  and also to thwart nefarious activities along the Indo-Pak border line.

District Magistrate, Samba, Abhishek Sharma  in the exercise of the powers vested under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, ordered that no person or group of persons shall move in the areas from 9 pm to 6 am in a one-kilometre strip along the IB in Samba district.

“In case the movement is necessary, the person, persons are required to produce their ID Cards to BSF/Police authorities,” it reads.

Any person found violating the aforementioned order shall be dealt with, in accordance with law.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of two months from the date of its issuance, if not withdrawn/rescinded earlier.
