SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday seized two vehicles allegedly acquired through illegal narcotics trade.
The vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a BMW were confiscated in connection with FIR No. 36/2024 under Section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Chanapora.
The accused, Mudasir Ahmad Wani, son of Gulam Rasool Wani from Stadium Colony, Chanapora, has been arrested in connection with the case.
The seizure was carried out under the provisions of Section 68 of the NDPS Act, which allows law enforcement to target assets acquired through illegal narcotics trafficking. This action marks a significant step in dismantling the infrastructure supporting the drug trade in the region.
“The J&K Police reiterated their unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace, emphasising their focus not only on curbing drug trafficking but also on disrupting the networks that enable such illegal activities. The police continue to encourage public cooperation and vigilance as they work towards eradicating drug-related issues in society,” a police spokesperson in a statement said.
