SRINAGAR: The winter chill continues to grip Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh, with temperatures plummeting across various regions.
Kashmir weather reported that Srinagar recorded a low of -5.4°C, while Sonamarg was the coldest place at -9.7°C. Other sub-zero temperatures were observed in Qazigund (-6.4°C), Pahalgam (-8.4°C), Shopian (-8.5°C), Anantnag (-7.9°C), and Larnoo (-8.1°C). Kupwara, Kokernag, and Ganderbal recorded lows of -4.5°C, -4.0°C, and -5.2°C, respectively, with Pulwama reaching -8.3°C. Budgam and Bandipora registered -6.4°C and -5.5°C, respectively, while Baramulla saw -5.1°C.
In the Jammu region, temperatures were comparatively milder, with Jammu city at 5.4°C and Katra at 5.6°C. However, Banihal dropped to -2.2°C, Bhaderwah to -3.4°C, and Rajouri to -0.4°C. Samba and Udhampur recorded 0.3°C and 0.5°C, respectively, while Poonch and Kishtwar experienced lows of 1.6°C and 1.5°C.
Ladakh remained the coldest region, with Leh recording a bone-chilling -13.2°C, followed by Kargil at -12.4°C.
