SRINAGAR: A tourist has died, and another was rescued after the duo fell into a snow cavity at Thajwas Glacier in Sonamarg.
An official said that the tourists accidentally fell into a snow cavity at the Thajwas Glacier. “As the news spread, the tourists at the spot, alongside the police, retrieved the body of one while another trapped person was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital,” the official said.
The official identified the deceased as Deepak Prahlad Patil, a resident of Maharashtra.
