SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed deep anguish over a devastating fire at Shiv Market, opposite Jammu Railway Station, which gutted around 35 to 40 shops and caused losses estimated at crores of rupees.
The Chief Minister directed the administration to extend all possible assistance to the affected shopkeepers, whose business establishments suffered extensive damage in the blaze.
The fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, damaging several shops in the market. No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
