Of those, 28 belong to the National Conference (NC), 20 to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and one each from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was the first MLA to cast his vote.

Voting began at 9:00 AM at the Legislative Assembly complex, where three polling booths were set up for MLAs. Polling will continue until 4:00 PM, with counting scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.

The NC is expected to comfortably secure three of the four seats, while the fourth seat remains hotly contested, with NC and BJP each holding 28 votes. Analysts said the BJP’s chances of winning the fourth seat are slim unless there is cross-voting by MLAs from other parties or independents.
