According to defence sources, the operation began early on Thursday when signs of an infiltration attempt across the LoC were observed. In response, the Army fired at the suspected activity as a precautionary measure.

A search operation followed the gunfire, with security forces deployed to comb the area. The region’s rugged terrain and dense vegetation are often used for infiltration, making it a key focus for such actions.

Bagyaldara village, close to the LoC, has seen similar operations before. The Army has sealed off access points and is conducting house-to-house searches to ensure no militants escape. Civilian movement has been restricted, and residents have been asked to stay indoors for safety.

There is no immediate information on casualties or the operation’s outcome. Authorities have urged people to stay vigilant. (With Inputs KINS)
