SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is scheduled to meet in Srinagar on Monday, September 21, with the House set to take up an inquiry report on alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and a bill concerning cooperative societies.
According to the Legislative Assembly Secretariat’s list of business, the sitting will begin at 10 am.
The session will begin with obituary references to former ministers Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Dharam Paul and Ghulam Hassan Khan.
This will be followed by Question Hour, after which the Speaker will announce the Panel of Chairmen.
Justice Hasnain Masoodi, chairman of the House Committee constituted to probe alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir, will lay the committee’s report on the Table of the House.
The committee was constituted in April 2025 to examine the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the JJM in the Union Territory.
The House is also scheduled to take up a bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 1989. The proposed legislation seeks to repeal the Jammu and Kashmir Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999, and provide transitional arrangements for self-reliant cooperatives under the 1989 Act.
The Assembly was summoned by the Lieutenant Governor to meet in Srinagar on September 21 at 10 am.
The Secretariat has also made arrangements for first-aid medical units at the Assembly complex and the MLAs’ Hostel in Srinagar. Tea and lunch facilities will be provided by JKTDC within the Assembly premises at what the bulletin described as genuine rates.
