Jammu Kashmir Bank Bags CGTMSE Award for MSME Lending Excellence

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has been conferred with an award by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) for achieving the highest number of guarantees sanctioned under its flagship scheme during the financial year 2024–25.

The award, presented in the category covering the North Eastern Region, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, was handed over during CGTMSE’s Silver Jubilee celebrations held in Mumbai. The event marked 25 years of the Trust’s service to the MSME sector, with awards given to top-performing Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) across India for their contributions to MSME financing, innovation, and institutional excellence.

General Manager (CBO) Tariq Ali, Zonal Head (Mumbai) Riyaz Ahmad Wani, and Nodal Officer (CGTMSE) Aftab Ahmed Shalla accepted the award on behalf of the bank. The honour was presented by Deputy Managing Director of SIDBI, Prakash Kumar, and CGTMSE CEO, Manish Sinha, in the presence of senior officials from banks, NBFCs, and other financial institutions.

Applauding the recognition, J&K Bank Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said the award reflects the Bank’s steadfast commitment to supporting micro and small businesses. “This award strengthens our resolve to expand support for MSMEs through wider coverage under the CGTMSE scheme. The Bank remains fully committed to deepening credit outreach, empowering entrepreneurs, and contributing meaningfully to the country’s MSME growth journey as envisaged by the Union Government,” he said.

General Manager Tariq Ali, expressing gratitude, stated, “We thank the CGTMSE Trust for acknowledging our efforts. This is truly a testament to our branches’ dedication and our institutional focus on inclusive growth.”

The recognition further highlights the Bank’s strong alignment with national efforts to promote entrepreneurship and ensure sustainable livelihoods through accessible, collateral-free credit delivery to small businesses.
