SRINAGAR: A Jammu and Kashmir Bank employee from Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district died after reportedly falling from a building in Gurugram on Sunday, officials and local sources said.
Sources identified the deceased as John Aadil Khan, a resident of Seer Hamdan, who was posted at the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Navin Shahdara in Delhi.
They said that the employee fell into a building shaft under circumstances that are not yet clear. He was immediately taken to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Authorities in Gurugram are expected to initiate legal proceedings to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, Delhi-based health activist Dr Mohammad Momin Khan expressed grief over the death and urged authorities to ensure the earliest possible transportation of the mortal remains to Srinagar so that last rites can be performed by the family.
The incident has caused shock among relatives, colleagues, and residents of the Seer Hamdan area. (KNT)
