SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank is set to begin a fresh recruitment drive, with the bank expected to issue a notification for the appointment of banking assistants and officers in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh within the next few days, Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the bank’s 88th Annual General Meeting at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Chatterjee said a major announcement for job aspirants was imminent.
“A very happy news is in the offing in the next few days. The bank will come out with the recruitment notification for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,” he said.
Chatterjee said the recruitment would cover both assistant and officer-level positions, marking the bank’s first such recruitment exercise since 2021.
“After 2021, the bank is going for recruitment of both assistants as well as officers into the bank,” he said.
The recruitment process appears to be at an advanced stage, with the bank having finalised arrangements with the agency that will conduct the examination.
“The negotiations and signing of the agreement with the agency which will conduct the examination are over. The bank will come out with the notification in the coming few days,” Chatterjee said.
The MD and CEO did not disclose the exact number of vacancies at the AGM, saying the details would be available once the formal notification is issued. He, however, indicated that the number of positions would be significant.
“The number of vacancies will be fair,” he said.
The announcement is expected to generate considerable interest among job aspirants across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, particularly as the bank has not undertaken recruitment for these categories since 2021.
