Addressing the protesters, JKCDF president Sajad Ahmed Parray said the committee formed in connection with the regularisation process should submit its report as promised, enabling the government to take the matter forward.

“We want the government to move ahead and resolve our issues. Regularisation was promised and we want that promise to be fulfilled,” Parray said.

He said the forum would release a 16-minute film documenting the struggles and hardships faced by daily wagers at Tagore Hall in Srinagar later in the afternoon.

Parray also announced that the organisation would hold another protest at SK Park in Srinagar on September 10.

He said the daily wagers would continue their peaceful agitation until the government takes a decision on their long-pending demand for regularisation.
