SRINAGAR: A suspected Pakistani drone sighted over vital installations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district late on Friday prompted a major search operation, officials confirmed on Saturday, according to several media reports.
The drone was detected at an altitude of more than 700 metres as it flew from west to east over a military garrison in the Bari Brahmana area at around 9:35 PM on Friday, officials said.
An alert was raised immediately, and Army quick reaction teams were deployed. Police were also informed, following which a joint search operation was launched to rule out the possibility of weapons or narcotics being airdropped, they added.
