SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has revised the seniority positions of two Senior Lecturers, Mohd Ayub and Bashir Ahmad Wani, in the final seniority list of +2 Senior Lecturers.
The decision was issued through Government Order No. 337-JK(Edu) of 2026 by the Human Resource Management Section of the School Education Department.
The department had earlier issued the final seniority list of Senior Lecturers under Government Order No. 126-Edu of 2020 dated May 26, 2020. Subsequently, representations were received from Mohd Ayub and Bashir Ahmad Wani seeking correction and inclusion of their service particulars and appropriate placement in the seniority list.
After examining the matter and obtaining information from the Director of School Education, Kashmir, the department issued notices inviting objections in January 2023. The order states that no objections were received from other members of the affected cadre despite subsequent communications issued up to June 2026.
Under the revised placement, Mohd Ayub, a Mathematics teacher associated with HSS Shangus, has been placed at seniority position No. 1, ahead of seniority position No. 1 held by Abdul Khaliq Poswal (ST) in the earlier list.
Ayub was first appointed on April 22, 1982, and placed as Lecturer on the same date. He was placed as Senior Lecturer on February 1, 1995, and as I/c Principal on January 22, 2011. His date of birth is April 6, 1957, and he retired from service on April 30, 2017.
Bashir Ahmad Wani, also from the Mathematics stream and associated with BHSS Sopore, has been assigned seniority position No. 32-A, between Kusum Lata Sadhu at position No. 32 and Mohammad Akbar (ST) at position No. 33.
Wani was first appointed on May 27, 1977, placed as Lecturer on May 3, 1985, and as Senior Lecturer on January 30, 2001. He was subsequently placed as I/c Principal on May 29, 2008. His date of birth is June 11, 1952, and he retired on June 30, 2010.
