SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has ordered an inquiry into the prolonged unauthorised absence of Syed Farooqa Akhter, a former Accounts Assistant who has since retired from service.
Under Government Order No. 255-F of 2026, dated August 6, Yasir Arafat, FA/CAO, Directorate of Audit and Inspection, JK, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to examine the matter.
The inquiry officer has also been tasked with determining whether any officers handling the case at the official’s place of posting or in the cadre-controlling office were involved in any connivance.
Abdul Bari Deva, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, Kashmir, has been appointed as the Presenting Officer in the case.
The Finance Department has directed the Inquiry Officer to complete the proceedings and submit the report within 20 days from the date of issuance of the order.
