SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Fire and Emergency Services has issued a public fire advisory urging people to avoid the use of firecrackers in vulnerable areas to prevent major fire incidents and ensure public safety.
The advisory warns against bursting firecrackers in residential and commercial areas, around dry bushes, cow sheds and wood joinery mills, stating that even a small spark can trigger a major disaster.
The department has advised the public to keep fire extinguishers and water ready, remain alert and take necessary precautions to protect lives and property.
It further urged citizens to immediately dial 101 in case of any fire-related emergency, stressing that prompt action can help prevent major loss.
