SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a comprehensive reshuffle of officers within the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, as detailed in Government Order No: 115-JK(FST) of 2026, issued on June 12, 2026.
The order, issued by the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Sheetal Nanda, IAS, and attested by Under Secretary Raj Kumar Sharma, mandates a series of transfers and postings aimed at the interest of administration.
Among the key changes, Rafi Ahmed Bhat has been appointed as the I/c Joint Director of the Forest Protection Force, Kashmir, while Maraj-ud-din Mailk moves to the role of I/c Regional Director of Eco. Env. and Remote Sensing, Kashmir. Bishan Dass will now oversee the JK FRI as I/c Joint Director and concurrently serve as the DFO of the Research Division in Jammu. Additionally, Mehnaz Anjum Malik has been posted as General Manager of Sales and Marketing Circle, Jammu, for the FDCL.
The reshuffle also affects various field positions, including Danish Khan, who takes charge as DFO of the Social Forestry Division in Baramulla while concurrently managing the KFT School in Chitternar, and Mohinder Singh, who has been named I/c Project Officer for NH1A, Batote. Nadeem Iqbal Mirza has been assigned as I/c Wildlife Warden for Rajouri-Poonch with additional duties as I/c PO CAT Mendhar. Several range-level appointments were also confirmed, affecting Rameez Raja, Yasir Amin, Neesa Imtiyaz, Javid Ahmad Chopan, Zahoor Ali Khan, and Rayees Ahmed Reshi across various forest divisions and ranges.
The government has clarified that these arrangements do not grant incumbents any right to claim preferential treatment for future promotions. Furthermore, the transfers are subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions before competent courts. Officers who have been displaced but not reassigned are directed to report to the PCCF and HoFF, JK, while Peer Iftikar Ahmad Qadri, Aijaz Ahmad Nagoo, and Fida Hussain must report to their respective authorities for further adjustment.
