Jammu Kashmir Govt Appoints IAS Officer as Festival Director for First International Film Festival

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed IAS officer Shreya Singhal as Festival Director for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Singhal, a 2020-batch AGMUT cadre officer currently serving as Director, Information, JK, will oversee the planning, coordination and execution of the four-day festival.

The main events are scheduled to be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, while parallel events will be organised in Jammu and Gulmarg.

As Festival Director, Singhal will coordinate arrangements with the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, nodal officers and various government departments for the conduct of the festival.

The government has also directed all concerned departments and administrative agencies to extend full cooperation and take prompt action on matters related to the festival falling within their respective jurisdictions.

The appointment comes ahead of the first international film festival being organised in Jammu and Kashmir.
