SRINAGAR : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval for construction of a multi-level car parking facility at Jewel Chowk in Jammu at an estimated cost of Rs 29.88 crore.
The project, approved by the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is aimed at easing traffic congestion, improving urban mobility and strengthening parking infrastructure in one of Jammu city’s key commercial areas.
According to the government, the proposed facility will provide modern and convenient parking infrastructure and help address the growing parking pressure in and around the busy commercial hub.
The multi-level parking facility is also expected to facilitate smoother movement of vehicular traffic in the area and improve overall urban mobility.
Jewel Chowk is a prominent commercial and traffic hub of Jammu, witnessing significant movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The project is intended to augment parking capacity while helping ease congestion in the surrounding areas.
