Jammu Kashmir Govt Constitutes Committee to Monitor Quality of Food and Services for Move Employees in Srinagar

   

SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered the constitution of a committee to monitor the quality of food and services being provided to move employees staying in hotels at Srinagar.

According to Government Order No. 1069-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department, Jammu and Kashmir on June 10, 2026, the committee has been tasked with ensuring regular inspection and oversight of facilities provided to employees during the biannual shifting of offices.

As per the order, the committee will be headed by the Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Department, Kashmir as Chairman. The Deputy Director, Supplies, Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS and CA), Kashmir and the Deputy Director, Estates Department, Kashmir have been appointed as members, with the latter also serving as Member Secretary. The Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, Srinagar will also be a member.

The committee has been mandated to conduct inspections, examine complaints, and review the quality of food and services being provided to the employees lodged in hotels. It will submit monthly reports to the Estates Department detailing inspections carried out, grievances received, and their redressal, in accordance with existing rules and norms.

The move comes as part of administrative arrangements for the smooth functioning of the biannual “Darbar Move” system, under which government offices shift between Jammu and Srinagar.
