Jammu Kashmir: Govt Constitutes Core Group for Re-examination and Simplification of Administrative Procedures

   

SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued Government Order No. 1068-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated June 10, 2026, to constitute a Core Group dedicated to the re-examination and simplification of government processes and procedures within the Union Territory.

The initiative, aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and citizen convenience, designates the General Administration Department as the Nodal Department for facilitating this reform exercise.

The Core Group is chaired by the Administrative Secretary of the Home Department and includes the Administrative Secretaries of the General Administration Department; Planning, Development and Monitoring Department; Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Information Technology Department; and the Administrative Secretary of the concerned department, with the Special Secretary to the Government, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department serving as Member Secretary.

Under its Terms of Reference, the group is tasked with reviewing existing administrative processes and service delivery mechanisms, identifying redundant procedures and avoidable delays, and examining G2G, G2B, and G2C services to improve their functionality.

Furthermore, the group will recommend measures to reduce procedural complexity and compliance burdens, suggest reforms for seamless and time-bound public service delivery, and work toward the simplification and standardization of forms, documentation, and workflows.
