SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday denied any stoppage of ration to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families due to verification issues.
In response to a query by MLA Mir Saifullah, the government said that all eligible households are receiving their entitled food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and at subsidised rates under the Non-Priority Household (NPHH) category.
The Minister in charge of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs affirmed that no ration has been halted due to verification concerns.
“All eligible households and beneficiaries are receiving food grains as per their entitlement and approved scales, free of cost under NFSA and at highly subsidised rates under the NPHH category,” he said. (KNO)
