Jammu Kashmir Govt Deploys 14 JKAS Officers for Assembly Proceedings

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir General Administration Department has deployed 14 government officers, including JKAS and Junior JKAS officers, to record issues and points raised during the sixth session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, scheduled from September 21 to 30.

The deployment has been made through Government Order No. 1513-JK(GAD) of 2026, with two officers assigned for each sitting day covered by the order.

The officers have been directed to document the points raised in the House and submit the records to the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the General Administration Department on the same day.

Under the order, Qaiser Mehmood, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the ARI and Trainings Department, and Jahan Zaib Khan, Junior JKAS, Under Secretary in the Higher Education Department, will perform the duty on September 21.

On September 22, Auqil Nuvaid, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, and Waqar Talib, Junior JKAS, Under Secretary in the Power Development Department, have been assigned the responsibility.

Saddat Iqbal, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Civil Aviation Department, and Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Junior JKAS, Under Secretary in the Mining Department, will be on duty on September 24.

For September 25, the department has assigned Azhar Amin Zargar, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, and Ghulam Qadir, Under Secretary in the Information Department.

Murtaza Rashid, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Health and Medical Education Department, and Rouf Ahmad Bhat, Under Secretary in the Industries and Commerce Department, will cover the proceedings on September 28.

On September 29, Shafqet Ali, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Jal Shakti Department, and Mansoor Ahmad, Junior JKAS, Under Secretary in the Tourism Department, have been detailed for the duty.

The final pair listed in the order comprises Parveez Ahmad Bhat, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Public Works (R&B) Department, and Shashank Padha, Junior JKAS, Under Secretary in the Housing and Urban Development Department. They will perform the duty on September 30.

The deployed officers have been instructed to submit 10 copies of the points and issues raised in the House to the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and two copies to the General Administration Department on the same day.

They have also been directed to forward extracts of the issues raised to the concerned administrative departments on the day of the proceedings for necessary action.

The concerned departments, in turn, have been instructed to immediately send a response to the concerned MLA on the points raised.

The order further states that if the Assembly extends its proceedings to a second sitting on any of the assigned days, the officers detailed for that day will also have to attend the second sitting.

The concerned Administrative Secretaries have been directed not to grant leave to the designated officers on their respective duty days without prior approval from the Chief Secretary.

In case leave is granted for an extraordinary reason, the concerned Administrative Secretary will have to depute another officer from the department to record the proceedings, while informing the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly and the General Administration Department.
