SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a high-level committee to examine, consolidate and forward project proposals under the additional SASCI allocation for disaster management.
According to Government Order No. 146-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued on February 3, 2026 by the General Administration Department, the committee will review proposals submitted by various departments against the additional funds allocated by the Government of India to the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.
The committee will be headed by the Administrative Secretary of the Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Department. Its members include the Director General (Budget) and Director General (Resources) from the Finance Department, along with representatives from the Revenue Department and the Public Works Department, both not below the rank of Special Secretary.
As per the order, the committee will assess departmental proposals to ensure they meet the objectives of the additional allocation, prioritise the projects, and forward the selected proposals to the Finance Department. The proposals will then be submitted to the Government of India for approval through the PFMS portal.
