According to a circular issued by the Finance Department, the MFA system integrated through Sandes-based SMS authentication has been made operational in the live environment of the JK BEAMS Portal.

The circular directed all Director Finances, Director Plannings, Financial Advisors (FAs), Chief Accounts Officers (CAOs), Accounts Officers (AOs), Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), and Maker/Checker users associated with the portal to ensure strict compliance with the new security measures.

The Finance Department stated that Maker/Checker users shall be solely responsible for the secure handling, confidentiality and proper use of their login credentials. It further warned that login credentials, one-time passwords (OTPs), and all authentication-related information must remain strictly confidential and must not be shared with any unauthorised person under any circumstance.

The circular also instructed all users to ensure that their registered mobile numbers linked with Sandes remain active, valid and accessible for receiving authentication messages.

It added that any discrepancy, authentication failure, or technical issue should be immediately reported to the official email IDs of the department.

The Finance Department further emphasised that the respective Maker/Checker users would be held solely accountable for any transaction or activity undertaken using their credentials.
