SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a detailed inquiry into allegations against a retired principal of a Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Udhampur.
Under Government Order No. 387-JK (Edu) of 2026, issued by the School Education Department on September 21, Joint Director (M) in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmad has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer in the matter concerning Pawan Kumar Singh, the then Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.
The inquiry has been ordered under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The government has appointed Under Secretary to the School Education Department, Mohan Singh, as the Presenting Officer in the case.
The Inquiry Officer has been directed to submit his findings and inquiry report within 20 days from the date of issuance of the order.
The order was issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS.
The government order does not specify the nature of the allegations against the retired principal.
