SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of 33 In-charge Assistant Executive Engineers in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, as part of a major administrative reshuffle across the Union Territory.
The transfers were formalised through Government Order No. 160-JK (RD PR) of 2026 dated June 6, 2026. The exercise follows the integration of engineering personnel from the Public Works (R and B) Department into the Rural Engineering Wing, necessitating the realignment of technical officers across various sub-divisions to strengthen field operations and improve administrative efficiency.
Under the order, Rafiq Hussain Pandit has been transferred from the Rural Engineering Wing, Devsar, to Chatroo against an available vacancy, while Abrar Ali has been shifted from Kupwara to Beerwah-Khag. Abid Ali has been posted from Teetwal to Kulgam, and Zubair Ahmad War has been assigned to Chadoora in place of Adil Hussain, who has been transferred to Gurez.
Mohd Akram has been posted to Bhalwal vice Vikramjeet Singh, who has been reassigned to Reasi. Ashok Kumar has been transferred to Basholi and will additionally hold the operational charge of Billawar Sub-Division until further orders. Other transfers include Kaiser Yaqoob to Shahbad-Achabal, Zia-ul-Rehman Qazi to Tangdhar and Ajay Prabhat to Mahore.
The department has also adjusted several officers who were awaiting postings. Nisar Ahmad Mir has been posted to Sogam-Kalarose, Mohd Hanief Dar to Qazigund and Muiz Bashir Shah to Bandipora. Javid Ahmad Banday has been shifted from Tral to Ramhal-Rajwar, while Umer Farooq has been posted to Keller-Achgoza.
Among other postings, Mohammad Altaf Ganie has been assigned to Sumbal-Hajin, Javed Akhter to Banihal and Manzoor Ahmad Dar to Devsar. Safir Ahmad has been posted to Rajouri, Vikas Kumar to Ramnagar, Sartaj Ahmad Bhat to Srinagar-Ganderbal and Anil Sharma to Kathua.
Further adjustments include Hilal Ahmad Shah at Kupwara, Idrees Bashir at Sopore-Zaingeer, Yagya Dutt Sharma at Vijaypur and Mohan Lal at Doda. Goutam Raina has been transferred to Gool, Neeraj Chopra to Kishtwar and Danish Iqbal has been designated as Technical Officer to the Superintending Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing, Kashmir.
The order also directs Nisar Ahmad to report to the Superintending Engineer, Kashmir, for further posting.
In a separate deployment, Mudasir Ahmad Mir, who was awaiting adjustment, has been placed at the disposal of the administrative department for assignment in the Technical Cell of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). His salary will be drawn by the Director, Rural Development, Kashmir, against the department’s overall cadre strength.
