SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a major reshuffle in the Legal Metrology Department, transferring and posting ten officers of the Assistant Controller cadre across multiple districts in a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and improving departmental functioning across the Union Territory.
The transfers and postings were formalised through Government Order No. 51-JK (FCS and CA) of 2026, issued by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs from the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
According to the official directive, Assistant Controller Jaideep Singh Sambyal has been transferred from Kathua to Samba, while Kapil Dev Singh has been shifted from Udhampur to Kathua. Mohsin Khateeb, who was serving as In-Charge Assistant Controller in Samba, has been posted to Udhampur to fill the vacancy created by the transfer.
In another key posting, Rajesh Heera, who was at the disposal of the Controller and overseeing the operations of the Taximeter and SS Laboratory in Jammu, has been appointed Assistant Controller for Legal Metrology in Poonch. Following his transfer, Kewal Krishan has been redirected to Jammu and posted as Assistant Controller (Enforcement). He will also hold additional charge of the Legal Metrology S.S. Laboratory and Taximeter unit in Jammu.
The Government has also effected several transfers in the Chenab Valley and adjoining districts. Ajay Kumar has been moved from Doda to Ramban, while Kuldeep Raj has been transferred from Ramban to Reasi. Anil Kumar has been shifted from Kishtwar to Doda and will continue to hold additional charge of Kishtwar until further orders.
In the Pir Panjal region, Pushkar Raj has been transferred from Poonch to Rajouri as Assistant Controller, completing a series of postings designed to address administrative requirements in key districts.
The order also includes a significant redeployment at the departmental headquarters level. Anita Sharma, who was serving as Assistant Controller in Reasi, has been placed at the disposal of the Controller, Legal Metrology Department, and assigned the role of Technical Officer. The Government has directed that her salary shall continue to be drawn against any available vacant post of Assistant Controller within the department.
