According to Government Order No. 1526-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on September 16, Kiran Bala and Ranjit Singh have been given the higher charge on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee.

The officials will continue in their own pay and grade and will receive charge allowance as admissible under rules. The arrangement will remain effective for six months or until the posts are filled on a regular basis, whichever is earlier.

The department clarified that the placement is temporary and will not confer any preferential right on the officials to hold the posts on a substantive basis or claim promotion. Any promotion will be made in accordance with the applicable rules and will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts.

The two officials have also been directed to continue working at their present places of posting until further orders.
