Jammu Kashmir Govt Postpones Urs Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din Sahib Holiday to October 9

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has postponed the provincial holiday on account of Urs Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din Sahib by a day, with the holiday now scheduled to be observed on October 9 instead of October 8.

The General Administration Department (GAD), in Government Order No. 1614-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated October 7, said the holiday would be observed on Friday, October 9, in Kashmir Province only.

The order partially modifies Government Order No. 1894-JK(GAD) of 2025 dated December 12, 2025, under which the holiday had been scheduled for Thursday, October 8.

The order was issued by the GAD by order of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and was signed by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.

The revised holiday notification has been circulated to senior government officials, divisional and district administrations, heads of departments, public sector undertakings, constitutional and statutory bodies, and other concerned offices.
