As per a government order, the seniority of Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo and Tariq Hussain Ganai has been revised following a legal challenge to the JKAS seniority list issued in 2021.

The case, initially filed by Dr Itoo and others before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), contested the 2021 list and sought restoration of an earlier seniority order from 2011. The Tribunal ruled in favour of the petitioners, setting aside the 2021 list and reinstating the 2011 positions.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir subsequently challenged the Tribunal’s decision in the High Court, but the petition was dismissed, with the court upholding the CAT’s ruling.

Following the court’s directive, the government has assigned Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo a seniority position 113-A, while Tariq Hussain Ganai has been placed at position 120-A in the revised JKAS seniority list.
