Jammu Kashmir Govt Reconstitutes Panel to Assess Loss in 2009-10 Funds Misappropriation Case

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted a committee to calculate the exact financial loss allegedly caused by the misappropriation of government funds under the Object Head “OE” during the 2009-10 financial year in a case linked to FIR No. 16/2015 registered at Police Station VOK, now Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The Health and Medical Education Department issued Government Order No. 595-JK(HME) of 2026 on July 31, partially modifying Government Order No. 167-JK(HME) of 2026 dated March 23, 2026.

The reconstituted committee will determine the quantum of loss in accordance with the findings of the Inquiry Officer.

Shahnawaz Umar Khan, Chief Accounts Officer, Baramulla, has been appointed Chairman of the committee. Mohammad Irfan Giri, Deputy Director (PD and MD), Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, and Nisar Ahmad Rather, Accounts Officer, Baramulla, have been appointed members.

Aashiq Hussain Bhat, Assistant Accounts Officer, Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, has been designated as the Presenting Officer.

The department said the revised composition has been ordered for calculating the exact quantum of loss arising from the alleged misappropriation of government funds under the Object Head “OE” during 2009-10.

The government order said all other conditions and contents of the earlier Government Order No. 167-JK(HME) of 2026, issued on March 23, 2026, would remain unchanged.
