SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday relieved Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohd Zaid, Commanding Officer of the 13th Battalion of JK Armed Police, to join the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as Superintendent of Police on deputation.
According to Government Order No. 472-Home of 2026, issued by the Home Department on September 22, Zaid was relieved with effect from the afternoon of Tuesday to take up his new assignment.
The order said his deputation would initially be for four years and could be extended up to seven years, subject to the terms and conditions prescribed by the NIA and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The order was issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti, IAS, on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.
The Home Department order referred to an NIA communication dated September 9, 2026, regarding Zaid’s deputation as Superintendent of Police.
