Government circular specifies that the minimum age requirement for admission to Nursery/Balvatika/Pre-school/Anganwadi classes will be calculated based on a cut-off date of November 30 of the year in which admission is sought. This applies to schools in the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of the Jammu Division.

The decision aligns with the restoration of the November-December academic calendar in these regions.

The department highlighted the importance of adhering to this deadline to ensure compliance with NEP 2020, which mandates that children entering these grades should be over three years of age.

The circular instructed all educational institutions in these regions to strictly follow the new guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient admission process.

This initiative aims to streamline the admission process while ensuring adherence to national standards for early childhood education. (KINS)
