SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the posting of 306 newly appointed Medical Officers (Allopathic) across various healthcare institutions in the Union Territory.
The postings were ordered by the Health and Medical Education Department through Government Order No. 762-JK(HME) of 2026, dated November 6, 2026, issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government Saugat Biswas, IAS, and Additional Secretary Dr Javed Iqbal, JKAS.
The order follows the appointment of 335 candidates as Medical Officers under Government Order No. 663-JK(HME) of 2026, dated September 2, 2026, after their character and antecedent verification reports were received from the Jammu and Kashmir Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The appointees were required to physically submit their joining reports to the Administrative Department at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu or Srinagar within 21 days of the issuance of the appointment order.
Of the 335 candidates, 306 submitted their joining reports within the stipulated period, while 29 failed to meet the prescribed deadline.
The department has now issued posting orders for the 306 candidates, assigning them to healthcare institutions across several districts, including Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Kupwara, Kathua, Reasi, Doda, Ramban, Poonch, Kishtwar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Rajouri and Jammu.
The officers have been posted to different levels of healthcare facilities, including District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and New Type Primary Health Centres.

In terms of administrative protocols, all other terms and conditions outlined in the initial appointment order remain completely unchanged. The government has instructed the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to thoroughly verify the genuineness and authenticity of all requisite certificates and documents of the appointees before authorizing the drawal and disbursement of salaries.
Furthermore, the Directors of Health Services for Jammu and Kashmir have been directed to submit a comprehensive compliance report to the Administrative Department within one week from the date of the issuance of the order.
