SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Health Services, Jammu has notified a list of 14 authorized doctors across the Jammu Division to issue mandatory health certificates for pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The list was issued through an official communication (No. DHSJ/SANJY-26/) dated March 19, 2026, addressed to the Health and Medical Education Department at Civil Secretariat, Jammu. The nominations were compiled based on inputs received from Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents, in accordance with directions from the Administrative Department.
According to the document, the 14 doctors are distributed across 7 locations in the Jammu Division. Kishtwar has 2 doctors, while Paddar and Chatroo have 1 doctor each. The Poonch district, including District Hospital Poonch, accounts for 3 doctors. SDH Mandi has 2 doctors, while CHC Surankote and CHC Mendhar have 2 doctors each. Additionally, 1 doctor has been authorized at NTPHC Sathra.
In terms of designation, the list includes 1 Consultant Physician, 1 Consultant Medicine specialist, 1 Specialist, and 11 Medical Officers.
The authorized doctors include Dr. Sanjay Lal Parihar (Reg. No. 5998), Dr VR Pandita (4655), Dr. Younis Raja (15004), Dr. Kanhaiya Lal (8738), Dr. Shahzad Ahmed (3300), Dr. Ishfaq Anjum (12967), Dr. Amit Kour (9449), Dr. Ramitpal Singh (12836), Dr. Muzaffer (38969), Dr. Sumit Sharma (18129), Dr. Imran Jamil (11018), Dr. Tariq Mehmood Khan (10336), and Dr. Ibrar Ahmed (15818). The entry of Dr. Afzad Ahmed from CHC Mendhar has been listed without registration and contact details.
Officials stated that only these 14 doctors are authorized to issue valid health certificates for the 2026 Yatra in the Jammu Division. The health certificate is a mandatory requirement for all pilgrims and is intended to ensure medical fitness for undertaking the high-altitude pilgrimage.
