SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday issued a detailed weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating dry and hot conditions today, followed by a spell of rain and thunderstorms over the coming days.
According to the forecast, June 20 will remain generally hot and dry, with heatwave to severe heatwave conditions expected at isolated places. A brief spell of rain or thundershower is also possible at a few locations.
Between June 21 and 22, the weather is likely to turn generally cloudy with intermittent spells of rain or thundershowers at many places. Intense showers are expected at a few locations, particularly in the Jammu division.
On June 23 and 24, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places. From June 25 to 27, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places. Intermittent rain or thundershower activity may continue at scattered places from June 28 to 30.
An advisory issued by the department has asked farmers to continue their field operations till June 20. It has also warned of moderate to heavy rain with intense showers, mainly in the Jammu division, during June 21–22 and again from June 25–27. The possibility of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable locations has also been highlighted.
