Jammu Kashmir High Court Announces Changes in Working Days and Holidays

   

SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has revised its calendar for October and November 2026, declaring October 16 a non-sitting day and November 6 a working day in lieu of it.

According to a notification issued by Registrar General M. K. Sharma on Thursday, October 16, which was originally a working day for the High Court, will now be observed as a non-sitting day. November 6, originally a non-sitting day, has consequently been declared a working day.

The High Court has also changed the holiday and working-day arrangement for November. November 5, which is listed as a holiday in the 2026 High Court Calendar, will now be a working day, while November 24 has been declared a holiday on account of the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The changes have been notified for all concerned and communicated to judicial, administrative and other officials of the High Court, as well as the presidents of the Bar Associations at Jammu and Srinagar.

The notification, bearing No. 2512 of 2026/RG/NG-15(I), was issued on October 8, 2026, by order of the Registrar General.
