SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat has made it mandatory for all officers, officials, and staff members to mark their attendance through the Facial Recognition Attendance System (FRAS) both at the time of arrival and departure during notified office hours, warning that failure to comply will result in the employee being treated as absent and salary for the day being withheld.

According to an official circular issued by the Assembly Secretariat, it has been observed that several officers, officials, and staff members were not marking their attendance through the Facial Recognition Attendance System at both entry and exit as required. Taking serious note of the lapse, the Competent Authority has directed strict adherence to the attendance protocol with immediate effect.
The circular states that every employee of the Secretariat must register attendance through the Facial Recognition Attendance System upon reporting for duty and again while leaving the office.
It further warns that any officer, official, or staff member who fails to mark attendance at both arrival and departure—scheduled at 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM, respectively—shall be treated as absent for that day. Consequently, salary for such day(s) will neither be released nor drawn.
