SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience spells of rain and thundershowers over the coming days, with the Meteorological Centre Srinagar warning of brief intense and heavy showers in some districts, particularly between August 16 and 19.
According to the latest forecast, rain or thundershowers are expected at many places across JK on August 13, with brief intense showers possible in a few districts during the afternoon.
On August 14, many areas of the Jammu Division are likely to receive rain and thundershowers during the early morning and morning hours, with brief intense showers also possible. Another spell is expected at many places across JK during the afternoon.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at many places during the late night and early morning hours of August 15, followed by another brief spell in the afternoon, the weather office said.

The weather office has advised people to remain cautious, particularly from August 16 to 19, when intense rainfall could affect some areas.
It warned that torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers could trigger flash floods, landslides, mudslides and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
People living in vulnerable locations have been advised to remain alert during periods of intense rainfall and follow local weather advisories.
