SRINAGAR: A man from Behrote village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has returned home after 26 years, having gone missing as a 14-year-old schoolboy, bringing an end to his family’s long search for him.

Raja, who was studying in Class 9 when he disappeared, said he had travelled to Mumbai with his brother in a vehicle and lost contact with his family there.
His family spent the following 26 years searching for him at different places but remained unable to establish his whereabouts. His parents continued to hope that he would eventually return.
The family received a breakthrough after a YouTuber posted a video on social media in which Raja appeared. Relatives recognised him in the footage and contacted the concerned persons.
Raja was subsequently brought back to his native Behrote village, where his return led to an emotional reunion with his family.
Family members expressed happiness at having him back after more than two decades and thanked the YouTuber whose video helped them identify and locate him.
Local residents also visited the family home to meet Raja and share in the family’s happiness. (GNS)
