Sources confirmed to Kashmir Life that a posse of policemen arrived at the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz and placed him under house arrest.

The shutdown call given by JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik is as mark of unity with Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails, in and outside the state, who JRL alleges are in bad shape.
