SRINAGAR: Nine persons, including eight Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and a civilian driver, were injured after a bus skidded off the road near Tarakote in Reasi district on Sunday, officials said.
A senior police officer said that the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when a bus of the 572 CISF Company (JK08D-5992), carrying CISF personnel, lost control and skidded off the road.
The injured have been identified as Head Constables Sammy Kumar, MM Dubey and A Ramesh; Constables PK Traya, BD Singh, B Srinu and Pratyush; Sub-Inspector Shiv Charan Meena; and driver Virender Singh.
The officer said Head Constables Sammy Kumar and MM Dubey, along with Constable PK Traya, were referred to Narayana Hospital after receiving initial treatment at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.
The remaining injured are undergoing treatment, while the cause of the accident is being ascertained, officials said.
Meanwhile, police have taken up an investigation, and further proceedings are underway. (KNO)
