Jammu Kashmir: Over 5.5 Lakh Candidates to Compete for 4,000 Constable Posts

   

SRINAGAR: A total of 5,59,135 candidates are registered to take part in the exams for 4,002 constable posts in Jammu and Kashmir. The exams are scheduled for December 1st, 8th, and 22nd .

The Constable (Executive/Armed/SDRF) exams will be held on 1st December at 856 centres across the UT, with 2,62,863 candidates expected to appear, including 54,296 from Jammu district. The Constable (Telecommunication) exams are set for 8th December, with 1,67,609 candidates, and the Constable (Photographer) exams will take place on 22nd December, with 1,28,663 candidates.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a meeting with civil and police officials to review preparations for these important exams conducted by the JK Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB).

The meeting included the Chairperson of the JKSSRB, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, ADGP Jammu, IGP Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and other officials. The Chief Secretary instructed officers to ensure strong arrangements for staffing, including deploying observers, supervisors, and invigilators. He emphasised the importance of preventing cheating and directed that sufficient security personnel be present at each exam centre. He also requested updates on the delivery of both sensitive and non-sensitive exam materials and instructed officials to supervise the process until the OMR sheets are returned to the SSRB by the police.

Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib mentioned that, for the first time, male and female gazetted officers will serve as ‘Frisking Supervisors’ at each centre, and the exams will be recorded to ensure transparency. (KNO)
