SRINAGAR: Jammu And Kashmir has collected Rs 648 crore of GST, a record for a month in October, official statistics suggest. This is being seen almost doubling of what the collections were in October 2020.

Over the last few months, the GST collections in Jammu and Kashmir have improved in comparison to a year back.

The GST collections were Rs 377 crore in September against Rs 368 crore in September 2020. For the month of August, the taxman collected Rs 392 crore against Rs 326 crore in August 2020. In July, it was Rs 432 crore this year against Rs 298 crore in July 2020.

Overall GST collection across India stood at Rs 130127 crore in October which is a surge by 23.7 per cent year-on-year. This is also the second-highest revenue collection under GST ever since its rollout in July 2017.
