SRINAGAR: An airplane-shaped balloon with “PIA” written on it was found in the Gohlad Chowki area of Mendhar town in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
A senior security official said that the balloon was spotted by locals, who informed the authorities.
Security forces reached the spot and examined the object. Preliminary assessment suggested that it was a toy balloon, and no explosive or suspicious material was found.
He said the situation is under control and there is no cause for panic. Further verification is being carried out as a precautionary measure. (KNC)
